one of my favorite summer baits. I burn it back about as fast as i can reel it and they absolutely smash it, the bites are super addicting! Well worth the money!

How deep do you fish this bait? Just watched a Tactical Bassin video with Mike Bucca where he says he fishes it fast and just below the surface. Is the main application on flats and up shallow?

I fish the 8” and 6”‘versions. Burning them back works, but I’ve also done well fishing them like jerkbaits when it’s cooler. I just got the wake version that I’ve been messing with the last few trips too. Haven’t stuck any, but I haven’t spent much time with it either to be fair.

For me, the best time of year for large wake baits has been post spawn to mid June and then October/November. There are brief 2-3 week windows where it will outfish a senko, when they are keying in on bigger bait fish shallow. I have the original slow sink Bucca shad and the 4x4. The original does best for me with a moderate fast retrieve. I do better with the 4x4 slower with pauses.

Here's the deal. I bought one 7+ years ago and it has been riding around in the boat ever since. Maybe I should tie it on and see what happens.

Funny how you have to actually use a bait to catch something on it...good luck!
