Since our spring family trip to Rayburn got canceled this year, we are looking at planning a fall trip. What are some of the lakes that you would consider ideal for fall fishing? We have family coming from as far west as Tom Green County and east as Collin County.

Let me know y'all's thoughts. Thanks!

Them that don't know him won't like him.
And them that do sometimes won't know how to take him.

Texoma is a fun mid to late fall lake, just because the topwater bite and the shad migration is so pronounced there. Many days its an all day topwater bite. Pretty lake for the non-fisherman with lots of lakeside rentals etc.

Tawakoni is very, very underrated fall fishing lake. Love that place in the fall.

The smaller east Texas lakes are great in the fall too. You can hit 2 in same day if the bite is off at one. I also enjoy Caddo in the fall.

RAYBURN for sure with Toledo next door. Ignore Markโ€™s advice, there are NO fish in Tawakoni.

I usually plan a week trip to Rayburn toward middle to late November. I have absolutely slain them. Other times it has been slow.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Good advice. Smallmouth, largemouth, spots and stripers. Every now and then you can see bald eagles

Have you been to Caddo Lake in the Fall? Beautiful scenery and good fishing.

Be safe,
