A couple weeks back I was out fishing on Texoma and my kayak got a little beat up on the rocks when some of the large boat wakes came through. I also had a branch come up through my scupper hole which took me a while to get free of.
Noticed I had maybe 2 gallons of water in my kayak when came back in. When I got home put a good amount of soapy water in it and looked for the leak but could not find one. Figured maybe the water came in when waves went over the bow and have a smaller leak than thought. Went out fishing on Lavon a few days later and while anchored seemed to notice the kayak felt like it was leaning a little to one side. Sure enough, shifted my weight and it seemed to be leaning a bit to other side. Was pretty sure that was due to water in the hull so started back to the ramp. At the ramp the kayak was so heavy could barely pull it out of the water. Tilted it back, opened the drain plug and drained a good amount of water out before taking it up the ramp. Also drained a good amount of water out when on its stern leaning against my truck before lifting onto the roof. When got home did the test with soapy water again but did not see any leaks. I knew there had to be one since the water had been flat and the amount of water was probably over 10 gallons.
Took my kayak to Mariner Sails to find and fix the leak. They found a small leak but it would not account for the amount of water I had in kayak and kept looking for the culprit. Finally found a fixed a crack on the deck near where my seat goes in.
I went out last night and after several hours had less than a cup of water in the hull which I can easily assign to water that came off c-tug cart which I take apart and put in front hatch.
They not only did a good job fixing my kayak but they were friendly and helpful when I called to give them more information or check on the progress.
If you have never been there, they are stuffed full of kayak parts and accessories and their staff knows what they are talking about..
Will definitely do business with them again.

Man I hate that feeling of water in the hull. Did they plastic weld it or use epoxy, glue, etc?

They did the plastic weld on it.
Fortunately not a large crack and they did a nice job.
If I did not tell you where it was it would take a close inspection for you to find it.

Glad they got you fixed up the best way! Quick story... my most embarrassing kayak moment involved water in hull. I'm two miles offshore Atlantic on a windy day and headed further out when I realize I have water in hull. It is a sickening feeling. You wonder how fast its coming in and how long before you're swimming. I have so much water in hull that I almost lose it trying to get turned around and headed back to shore. Now I'm headed directly downwind and waves are pushing me.. out of control as all the water rushes to bow of kayak and buries nose into water with each passing wave. Quickly change course and put bow into wind and waves as I'd much rather have water rushing to stern as its much easier to stay upright and control balance. It took over an hour to get pushed back to shore as I'm frantically paddling in short bracing strokes as waves push me backwards. Make it through the surf zone as winds are letting up.. turn kayak around for last 50 yards to beach with literally hundreds of people watching near the launch area. I'm relieved, I've made it, have all my gear, didn't have to be saved by the coast guard or anyone else, I light up a victory smoke, throw my leg over the side to exit kayak, all the water rushes to that side of kayak and dumped me. I'm sitting on sand bottom, my just lit cig broke in half hanging from my lip, lose my sunglasses, rods and reels getting a good surf sand dunking. Everyone watching.
