Last February I was scouting a lake and saw fish on my depthfinder. I dropped some bait and caught 10 bass, on the bottom, in 65 feet of water. All of the fish were less than 3 pounds. I considered this to be unusual, but I was wondering how deep others have caught largemouth bass in the winter?

My deepest was about 40 ft on Lake Whitney. Jigging "Little Georges' back in the seventies.

30-35 ft. With football head jigs on a trip with Mark Pack in the middle of July. Tried to do it on my own and have had very limited success. I have thrown flutter spoons in 25-35 ft on humps and shelves and caught some nice bass.

Winter at Amistad I caught 2 in 102โ in front of Cow Creek. I was catching them good in 40โ, drifted into the river channel and saw them on the graph. I was like surly those arenโt bass. I dropped down and caught a 2.5lber. Did it again with the same result.

75 feet at Amistad when I was a kid and the Lowrance flasher barely read the bottom.
It was not at all uncommon to catch fish on Table Rock from 55 to 60 feet in the winter.

30/35 feet ay Amistad you could see these boulders down there it was so clear , as soon as your drop shot disappeared we would feel the bite. Nothing big .
