Went looking for Shad this morning at 4am. We launched at Stewart’s Creek, and threw around the the courtesy dock and shore, then over at pier 121 marina to throw around the docks. We were only catching 2 at a time at most. Can anybody recommend better spots for us?

I've had good luck just inside 121 marina. Anywhere there are lights on over night are my go to places.

There is a small cove right next to the big white house up by the cut in the old dam. The big white house is a well known point/area for catching sandbass but that small shallow cove almost always is loaded with shad most times of the year. Generally smaller threadfin shad (2-3 inches). Sometimes they are towards the mouth of the cove and sometimes a little deeper back into the cove.

I use to have good luck in party cove along the old dam. I also ran a seine on the NW side by the park.
