The hook I use. 4/0
I always tex rig my dropshot.

I use the same hook and vary the size between 1/0 - 4/0.

I like the Gamakatsu 1/0 Drop Shot Split shot hook. been using that one for along time and when forced, I will texas rig using that hook also. It just means you have to use a more traditional hook set than when you nose hook the worm. I have also been using the Aaron Martens trick of hooking the worm by burying the hook in the worm going up.. so the hook is buried in the worm hanging off the point of the hook.. or something like that.. hard to describe. He claims he gets better worm action hooking like that. A little more robust hook set needed for that technique as well.

I really like the Owner 2/0 Riggin hook. I always thought they were good for average fish....I wasn't sure how they would hold up against a big fish until yesterday. We went on a guided trip with Mark Pack on Lake Fork, and that is what he was using. I managed to catch this 7# yesterday afternoon on a drop shot in 25ft of water on an Owner 2/0 riggin' hook. It is just an all around good hook for almost anything.

Character is who you are when nobody else is around.

I use an Owner 1/0 rigging hook on a finesse worm and a 2/0 Owner J hook with a longer trick worm. No use in complicating things.
