I believe it. Just got off of Twok. Bad winds off a storm. I am sure someone got in trouble. I mean you can see it coming. Check radar on cell phone. Yep its coming this way. Then you hear thunder. Time to roll. Lake was full of boats clueless. Why wait until the storm hits?

I have Verizon and have very little service. I heard ATT is better but my phone is a company deal.

These winds felt like 40-50 mph gusts. Not good on any lake,

Yea, it came in quick here and was blowing a good 40mph. With so many boats out there I doubt everybody had time to load up

It was blowing 30-40 mph here at my house on the Northeast side of Lufkin! I wouldn't have wanted to be on a small lake with it much less Big Sam!

I was there. The wife and I went under the bridge to get out of the heat and around 4:00 my wife said is that the african dust or rain. We were on south side of bridge and when I looked towards Harvey it was starting to disappear. I told wife we had to go. We ran to cassel Boykin and I jumped out and ran to the truck and backed down. Jumped back in boat and the wind started to hit and I promise there was gusts of 50+. I sat in the parking lot and let wind die down some. When we headed back towards broaddus there were probably 5' swells coming from the Northeast and that was after the wind gusts died down.
Had one hit like that a few years ago and we had to run to Jackson hill. I had a 24' bay boat and it was bad, I passed a 21' ranger that was taking waves over the front and let him get behind me to make it in. When we made it to the marina he ran the bilge for about 30 minutes to get rid of all the water.
