BRAUNIG AND CALAVERAS LAKES DURING FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND - CLOSED

"As a reminder, CPS Energy offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2020 in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. Additionally, in accordance with the action by the City and County to close parks for the Fourth of July weekend to reduce the spread of COVID-19, CPS Energy announced today that Braunig and Calaveras lakes, along with their nearby parks, will also be closed to the public. The lakes and parks will close Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 8 p.m. and will reopen on Monday, July 6, 2020 at 6 a.m. The recent increase in the amount of COVID-19 cases in Texas has resulted in many popular recreational areas across the state to act by closing or limiting access"

I wish someone had posted this yesterday. A buddy and I met up at the gate at 5:45 this morning To chase reds not knowing it was closed. I never thought to check their website.

That's too bad you made the drive, for a month now I've been checking and calling before I go anywhere just so I don't end up in your situation.

I wanted to go as well as the top water bite has been awesome.

I don't think there is a going back at this point -- adapt to the current situation and figure out to move ahead is going to be the "new normal". Health, politics, the economy, education, social interactions are all going to continue to be disrupted during this period of uncertainty. Just my 2 cents! bang
