My family and I are headed to Brownwood this weekend to do some fishing. Anyone got any pointers for the lake? I will likely fish for anything that bites excluding catfish. Other than that if it bites I will fish for it. It will be good to get a break. Hopefully I can get out of the party crowd and do some fishing.

Water has been in the low to mid 80's and pretty clear over most of the lake. Stained near the creeks. Bass have been pretty good around docks and the stick ups that grew up while the lake was low.I have been using Yum Dingers and catching quite a few, mostly smaller, but they are fun to catch. White bass have been schooling some early and late. Lake is dropping with the heat. I will be on the lake every morning through Tuesday trying to take advantage of the early morning bite. Look for a 22' long white Bullet. I will be gone each day by 11 when all the wake boats start to come out and it gets real rough. Good Luck!

Is Wild Duck Marina still there? I was thinking it was really torn up in a recent storm?

Well don't stop at the Whataburger in Brownwood whatever you do. Worst service I've ever had and I eat at LOTS of Whataburgers!

Caught fish on: 1/4 and 3/8oz strike king buzz baits in white and chartreuse ( seemed like the smaller the better and white was preferred. ). Covering the stick up around major and minor points at sun up.
The worm bite was fair, 1/4oz weight with #4 hook and Berkley junebug, had a long swimmer tail in 7โ maybe a hair linger but I think it was a 7. Caught fish on purple and black with chartreuse tail worm same style and type, 12โ worms did no good.
Never figured out the deep bite, I hit it with worms and 1/2oz weights. For all I know I got a ton of bites, It was hard to tell with the mammoth waves due to the ski folks, tried cranking deep divers up one signed if the hump and down the other. Bass.
My Champion 203 ran perfect, jumped out of the hole like it had been shot, for the first time since Iโve had that boat, Iโm glad I have it. What a great fishing platform.

Did you really put a #4 hook in a worm? That's getting down to crappie or bluegill size almost. Maybe you used a 4/0 to Texas rig?

Fishing for us has been tough since the water has warmed up. Good time to sit in the water and enjoy a beverage.
