Black and chartreuse 1/2 ounce 5 or 6 Colorado blade works pretty good. What about the cadence you mentioned? Both of your articles are great learned a lot thanks for posting them. J. D

D The only way I know how to describe my favorite method is with a pic. Although you have to determine exactly how much the fish want the bait lifted. I like to describe it as imitating a crawfish. Scoot ... drop ... scoot ... drop. Make sense? Sometimes it's a double-pump, other times it is a slow drag. It takes a bit of trial & error sometimes. Also (although you didn't ask) a #6 blade might be a bit much for a 1/2 head weight. If it causes the bait to roll and not stand upright throughout the lift and expecially the drop it won't work as well as a #5. I even prefer a #5 on a 5/8 head for that reason.

Donald Hey .... You've been fishing them as long as I have. And probably with much more versatility.

I like those little things that the true blade guys are willing to share. These are things that just come natural which many fishermen don't even thank about, no matter what bait it is. They just do it every cast; or only do some of them when they are fishing a certain kind of cover. So many of these little subtle parts of a technique will never be know unless we start paying attention and truly realize that this is the reason that the fish took the bait. Then we have to be willing to sharing those techniques with others; knowing under the right conditions it can be duplicated.

Great write ups from both of you.
Mr. Harper do you have a supplier for the rattles that can be added to your skirt accessory. I still have good supply the legs but Iām down to a few rattles. Pretty good for those items being off the market for years. When were discontinued I drove to every tackle store in Dallas / Ft. Worth and bought there stock of white, smoke, chartreuse, and black.

Stanley has brought back the Pro Trailers in 4", 5" and 6". No round ball rattles are being produced. I bet the girls at the office will contact the warehouse guys to find the old supply of rattles. You have to call and ask. I never used them much and went with the Spider Rattle system which holds two of the cylinder type rattles on any spinner bait or jig.
