in the 60s in nw arkansas we could get real m80s, about 1/8 stick of dynamite. granddad used to tie them to rocks and toss them in the river, always had fish on sat. 1/4 mile missiles back then were impressive, had to watch the adults set those off due to hay barn and other flammables. nothin like a bunch of drunks with 1/4 mile missiles. and to answer the "chaser" question, texas twister was the other name we called them, sold under that name too. blew up my fingers more than once with the black cats too, back then they hurt bad.

well, being a younggin with slightly racist grandparents, we called them N****er chasers. I wouldn't even say that but i legit heard them called that so long that I still don't know the real name. I still call them that I believe they were labeled Texas Twisters. Seemed like they cost a whole quarter back then, so I never set off too many.

cherry bombs.....back IN 50'S they allowed us to smoke between classes and on opur way back to class, we would take a lit cigarette butt, put in under one of the radiators in the hall and lay the wick of a cherry bomb across the butt....it would take 5 min or so til the cigarette burned down enough to light the fuse on the cherry bomb...when that thing went off,the blast and shock wave would rattle the doors and windows...the principal would come flying out of his office to see who did it...he never caught on how we were setting off those cherry bombs....

Bottle rockets. We'd split in teams and set up forts and use lacrosse sticks as barrels to shoot them at each other. Good clean fun

Yep a gross of bottle rockets each and a couple of drainage ditches for cover. Good times.

This, sometimes the fuse took 3 seconds and sometimes .5 seconds. That hurt Bottle rockets and Roman candles were our favorite for wars. Sometimes we would put on dads leather welders jacket and hood and have close quarters attacks.

I remember bottle rocket wars with my neighbors.

Back in the 60's, the little kid down the street got him some new cowboy guns for Christmas. My cousin put a black cat in the barrel and split it wide open. The kid ran home crying and a few minutes later here come dad mad as he**. Glad it wasn't me!!

M-80's and Cherry Bombs...........underwater mini depth charge's !!!! Very powerful Yep, we used to tie rocks to them and throw them into a river in northern Pa. They would light up the whole pool. Friend of mine had a brother that made M100s. Those things were deadly. I lit one about 20' from my truck and when it weng off my buddy and i leanning on the bed just looked at each other. He said wow did you feel that. The shock wave lifted the back of the truck. I had a lab mix that loved rockets on sticks. He would try to grab them as they came out of the pipe. Him and my dumb lab for fight for position. A buddy had a pack of lady fingers in the back pocket of his jeans. Someone snuck up behind and lit it. Blew his pocket off.
