I found that my 853 was a little too stiff for 5" weightless senkos. It worked OK for 7". Fished a buddies 852 and found that to be more suited to both 5" and 7" weightless senkos.
On an unrelated note, when Dobyns had their sale this spring I got a 2 power Xtasy to try out Gary's rods and support a Sulphur Springs based business. (I think the 2 power Xtasy would feel more like a 1.5 NRX if such a rod existed since Loomis rods tend to be underrated in power compared to other manufacturers) That rod is well suited to 5" and weightless flukes but a tad underpowered for 7" senkos. I like the rod (especially at the price I paid for it) but at full price vs NRX would get the 852NRX.
With respect to the 893, found that the sweet spot on rods for me in terms of feel/accuracy is 7' - 7'3" so I don't fish the longer rods.

853 for senkos. 852 for a normal whacky with trick worms. Thats NRX or any other rod.
