A friend of mine went there a few weeks ago. Said the food was not good at all and had to go to corpus to find decent food. Just be prepared to be underwhelmed on the food thing.

I’ve always liked the boiling pot, unless it’s changed since the last time I was there

I’ve always had great meals at Charlotte Plummer’s, real good everytime I’ve been.

Not as much any more. Seeing it smashed after Harvey kinda broke my heart and I haven't spent a lot of time back there since. The boiling pot has gone markedly downhill. The portions are smaller and they're just not as good. Charlotte Plummers is old people food.... bland and tastes vaguely soapy in my opinion. Sushi Luck was absolutely excellent authentic Japanese and somewhere I want to order "omakase" which is basically "Chef's choice. Feed me your best until I cry for mercy"

If you go to Port Aransas try Trout Street or Montego Bay for Seafood, only problem is you will have to drive to Corpus then back around cause the Ferry can be a 60 to 90 minute wait

Paradise Key, good food and scenery Panjos for pizza and pitchers of beer Bench Warmers for beer and kimchi fries (same owners as Hu Dat) I like the Taqueria Puerto Vallarta for breakfast, it's next to Tackle Town so that's a plus Latitude's if you're wanting fancy Crab Inn is finally open, haven't been there since it was rebuilt
Rockport is a tourist town. Expect long waits, lousy service and mediocre food at most places.
Buy your fresh shrimp from Flowers and cook at home. We'll be down there for two weeks and the places we'll eat that I look forward to are Panjo's, the Taqueria, and Paradise Key with a few random places mixed in. Other than that, we cook at the house. I'm sure we'll get terrible food from the bakery, over priced grouper sandwiches from Moondogs and nasty BBQ from that red shack, but none of it is worth recommending.

Is the Crab Inn still there? They would cook our fish that we caught. The Cajun battered fried trout was great.

I have to disagree with the lousy service portion of this. Don't go during the rush times (Memorial day, Labor day, 4th, etc...), remember your pleases and thank yous, treat your servers well, and I get goodies and little extra things all the time. Free desserts, discounts, etc. Biggest problem is I don't remember the names of places I go. I'll just take a couple of random turns and "Hey, that looks interesting". Just don't act like a rude tourist.
