I have a few of my own...Marine Creek, Bryson Lake, Weatherford ... what are some of yours? I have a 16.5’ and don’t like big water during the heavy traffic months. Looking for new places to check out that are small and productive. Couple hours from Fort Worth.

Wheeler Branch(Glen Rose area)before they told me I couldn’t put a real boat on it anymore. Absolute gem. Less than 300 acres, over 80’ deep, clear water and loaded with hydrilla. Zebra mussel scare caused them to stop allowing anything except canoes and kayaks(“no boats with a bilge area”). Kills me: I live across the street overlooking lake and cant put my bass boat on it anymore. cry

Someone mentioned that to me a few months ago about Wheeler Branch. Never got to fish it.

Bardwell was fun to me but remember that even at the bigger lakes there are usually protected spots that are accessible from a nearby ramp. Just because you can travel all over a lake doesn't mean there isn't magic to be found grinding out smaller areas.

I have a favorite small lake but I can't tell you what it is. You might take all of the hogs out of my honey hole.

Be safe,

C’mon now. Not that I’d hook up with one but I’d never take one out of the fishery.
