Does anyone know where to find the striper on granbury I’ve been fishing Texoma a lot but recently moved here and just wondering where I should give it a shot.

Not sure how the golden algae is effecting the lake, but usually in the summer they run from around Indian Harbor to the dam. You just have to find them.

Fishing was really good a few years ago but I’ve had tough luck lately on Granbury. Better off going to Whitney. Fishing has been very good there lately.

should be lots of stripers there. PK dumped all theirs into the Brazos above granbury. It's a shallow lake though and maybe the stripers didn't go that far.

The recent golden algae outbreak is the first one on Granbury in years and appears to have been knocked back by the recent warm weather. Striper and white bass populations have been increasing in Granbury. At this time of year the striper should be from the dam past the first big bend in the lake to the power lines.

In my experience, it's DeCordova and south. Lots of looking. Once found, they can be caught. But, lots of looking. Then you'll hear about Joe Blow that your buddy knows who has a house on the outside bend just before the damn that throws top waters off his dock and catches 'em. roflmao

Just gotta find 'em down there.

Give Mike Acosta a shout. He lives at the lake. Myself or him can point you in the right direction.
A half day trip with Mike will give you years of Striper knowledge on Granbury.
Sand Bass and Crappie are also good.
Your not wasting your time fishing this lake.

Definitely slow with the striper this this year. As mentioned above form DC south, I have been able to get on some sandies here and there.

I typically stick to largemouth, but lately I have been trying to branch out and catch other species. What kind of structure or depth do stripers tend to relate to? Not looking for any ones secrets some key things to look for.

I have only been able to catch undersized stripers mixed in with sandies. I haven't fished the large flats in a while. I have caught most of my fish in 12'-25' of water at points and the top or bottom of edges or drop offs. Good luck.

The floods of 2019 washed out most of the bigger fish, but there are some to catch. Been catching some keeper striped bass to 8lbs. Have to work through many small fish. The sandbass are good as well.
