Maybe people considering these dogs should see pictures of those who have been attacked before making a decision about getting one. Post of the week so far !

Some PB’s are teddy bears some are bears. All have the jaws of a gator. It’s all about their raising. Kinda like kids huh?

A pit will turn on its long term owner that has treated them like their own child for years and chew their face off. Raising has nothing to do with it. Breeding of hundreds of years does.

Just a big ol baby. Then she bit his wife's face for no reason. she had to have several surgeries. Never was aggressive, not provoked, just clear out of the blue decided to bite her. Never any incidents before that, no chance of any afterwards. they put the dog down because of this.

One of our customers has one. I have been around the dog every week for over a year since he got her as a pup. Some day she ignores me and some she wanted to play. He moves into a bigger house in Westlake and ever since she has turned aggressive towards me, even bit me once on the hand. So I have to text him and let him know what time I will be there so her can put her inside. No reason at all can explain why she turned on me other than moving to a bigger house. I can hear inside the house hitting up against the windows barking and growling at me. He now has a shock collar which has seemed to help a lot

This is the problem. Bread to grab and hold animals by the face. You add that breeding to a highly muscled dog and you have a time bomb. Your not going to overcome that instinct.

I can’t believe there are no pitbull advocates on here. I’ll do it. I have one and a half (one full, one mix). The two best dogs I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot. I’ve fostered four - two were incredible. Two were dog aggressive which is relatively common. I have had them in my house with my kids since they were very young. The first one (mix) we got two weeks before my daughter was born. She has been the gentlest dog with kids. I’d trust her with an infant. They can pull her ears, stick fingers in her eyes, etc. No reaction. Ever. The only reason we got a second was she was too terrified of strangers because she had probably been beaten senseless as a puppy. The second one (full pit) is even better. Smart as [censored]. Dying to please us. Simple to train. Ask any dog trainer, literally any. They will all tell you pits are great dogs. I understand the hesitation to get one. I spent a long time researching them before I ever got one. Look past the headlines. Also keep in mind that a lot of times, the dogs that attack people are misidentified by the dimwit media. An American pitbull terrier is not the same as an American Staffordshire terrier, a Staffordshire terrier, an American Bulldog, or a bull terrier but I’ll bet the guys on here calling for the euthanization of all “pitbulls” wouldn’t know the difference. They’re all good dogs. I’ve actually had them in my house, with children. The only “face” they’d “rip off” would be the guy who comes in my house and messes with my family. That said, I’m not even positive they’d do that. I know I won’t change any minds. I know how it looks. But before you go in public and yap about how someone’s pets should be “shot in the face”, do a little research. Meet one of these dogs. Read an article written by a trainer, not TMZ. You may learn something.

From 2005 through 2017 pit bulls accounted for over 65% of all fatalities from dog attacks in the US. Obviously no other breed came close. This dog should be banned.
