Their labeling of the rod seems to "fit" quite well. For ex their 7' Medium crankbait rod labeled "small cranker" handles squarebills and bandit 200s extremely well and will even throw the 2.5 on braid nicely. I have 2 of them on the deck at all times as I like to throw cranks!

As to "complaint/issues" I would say I have with them-
1. on the upper guides (last 5 or so) they use a single foot guide that can bend out and break loose from the epoxy rather easily. Now granted I don't like sticking my rod tip down to free the baits (especially on a $260 rod!) but I've had 2 different guides come off doing that.
2. on the reel seat the top part doesn't have a lot of epoxy holding it down. After taking the reel off and on a few times and tightening it rather snug you'll start to see some cracking of the epoxy. I had a rod repair guy here locally replace a reel seat for me and he said all they needed was to add about 2xs what they did and it would have been fine.

Otherwise I've been extremely happy with the rods. They feel good(I do prefer the cork feel on the Legend Tourneys over the Extremes) and I like knowing that I have my rods matched to their respective baits.

side note- if you do have to send a rod in for repair they are really quick to take care of things. I had a rod break about a foot down and sent it back and they replaced it with no issues. I do like the option when sending back to pay a little extra and upgrade to the next higher model!

I wonder if thats whats up with my reel seat on one of the rods I have. Its almost like its not 100% secured. Just got to lazy to deal with it and it still functions 100%. Might need to add some epoxy to it.

St. Croix Premiers are the nicest and smoothest casting rods I've ever had. They're just effortless. The funny thing is I don't really use them that much for Texas bass fishing, but I love their spinning rods and their 6'6 M casting Premier is my go to stick for creek or small river smallmouth bass fishing and it's just a flat out fun rod to fish jerk baits and topwaters and small plastics or jigs that can handle 12" to 5 pound smallies.

I use several mojo bass rods medium and medium heavy. They perform well and I have caught some very big bass with my mojo's. Had to use the warranty a couple of times and it was an easy process. [Linked Image]

I have about 25 different St. Croixs from Mojos to Legends and have used almost every rod brand out there from Abu-Garcia Veritas, Ducketts to high dollar Loomis. Was once sponsored by Falcon, Aries and E-21 when Ken Whiting was with those 2 companies. I also own about 18 Dobyns and they are back ups, or for friends to use.
To me, the St. Croixs are top of the line rods and my preferred rods to use, and I think you'd be happy with them.

I have three or four St. Croix rods. All good. Nothing bad to say about them.
Well built, balanced, light weight and durable.

And greedily devour the treacherous bait.
