Anybody seen any brisket sales for the 4th? I live West of Ft. Worth and it looks like that animal doesn't exist out here.

I was at Kroger earlier today and they had brisket for a mere $4.99#. Beef prices are crazy.

I was at Kroger earlier today and they had brisket for a mere $4.99#. Beef prices are crazy. Yeah. Don't look for any good beef prices soon. Have to make do with chicken, pork, and spam.

I was at Kroger earlier today and they had brisket for a mere $4.99#. Beef prices are crazy. I split a fattened up steer with a guy I work with, just got it back from the butcher Friday. After the price of the steer and the butcher, it came to $2.20 a pound. That's all the steaks, brisket, ground beef, roasts, all of it for $2.20. And it's a lot better than any meat I can buy in our grocery stores.

Saw pork butt at Tom Thumb for 1.37 lb.,not too bad but they had it for .97 lb. two weeks ago.
BTW full packer brisket was averaging a hunnert dolla bill.

With the high beef prices, are the ranchers putting more in the pockets or are the meat companies who are buying the cattle profiting more?

I was at Kroger earlier today and they had brisket for a mere $4.99#. Beef prices are crazy. May want to check but Costco had prime briskets for $4.29 this past weekend. That's down a few bucks/lb compared to two weeks ago. All of their beef prices were down $2-3/lb yesterday. I buy all Prime beef there. Yesterday they were still about $2/lb above their everyday prices for two months ago.
