Got to the river and launched by 6am. The morning started off foggy and misty with a 40% chance of rain. We ran up river to a spot to catch bait (perch). After that we tried several of my honey holes without a single bite.

Then the 40% chance turned into 100% chance. We watched the rain cloud approach us and took shelter off the main river by running up the Paint Rock River. Stayed there for close to an hour until the storm passed. The Tn River runs through a canyon and any wind from the west and/or north gets funneled into that canyon and can cause some fairly rough water. After the wind died down, we exited our safe haven and anchored over another spot I have caught fish on in the past. Using cut perch for bait we had a double hookup in less than 10 minutes.

The next few hours brought many dink bites, but a few nice ones as well.

I did let my fishing partner catch one fish!

The end stages of the spawn is on. I've got 50 - 70 ft holes I'll going to explore next time I'm out. El Gato, get well soon. I'll be in Texas July 4th week. Guess I shouldn't ask for a planer board demo!

Looks like a fun day. Last time I was on the Tennessee we dropped in just east of Corinth across the Alabama line and had some decent success. I need to get back up there when I go visit family in Miss.
