I have been looking at one of the two systems. I've talked to a few people, and something keeps coming up. Crappie guys all say livescope and bass guys say 360. I asked a guy (through dm on this forum) if he suggested 360 or livescope. He said he doesn't crappie fish and doesn't have the need for livescope.

Why is the livescope so much better for crappie? Seems being able to find the brush around you would be more important than seeing the fish live.

I am an opportunistic angler and will catch whatever I can get to bite, so is the livescope still the top suggestion?

Go to you tube and check both units out and that will help you decide which one will suit you better. I fish crappie so I love my livescope. Hope this helps some.

I’ve had both , livescope is better for me hands down . Fishing timber and Brushpiles is 99% of what I do.

I agree , watch the videos.

Good luck

I have watched a ton of youtube videos. I can see advantages to both. Some guys can do both, or take a chance on one if they dont like it get the other. I cant do that. I need to pick right from the beginning. I will be stuck with whatever I get.

Maybe I am looking at this wrong. Is it the difference between fishing stationary vs moving. Is the livescope better fishing more stationary (such as jigging brush for crappie), and the 360 better if you have the trolling motor on and running a bank?

Maybe my sample size isn't large enough and if I asked on the bass forum, there would be more that say livescope than i think.

The guy (big league bass fisherman) that installed my Livescope has both Livescope and 360 on the front of his boat. I can see the joy in having both. Livescope is great, but has a narrow beam. I’m considering adding 360 to the front of my boat eventually.

That Mega 360 sure looks good and fishn under livescope is fun.... They both cost more than I want to pay so I'll just stick with my ole Humminbird SI units on the console and TM and fill my cooler with whatever species I'm fishn for..... popcorn

LS is great for up close work to put the jig at the fish's nose. It will also show brush/timber away from the boat but you have to pan around to see it.
360 will give you a picture out in front of the boat without having to move a transducer.
Both show fish, LS in real time; 360 every time the signal pans by.
Bass fishing usually includes long casts direct to structure which 360 shows well and LS will when you pan by it. If you're doing a lot of drop shot, I'd use LS with down view. If I was casting most of the time on long casts, 360 would be my choice.
Crappie fishing where you're presenting the bait close to the boat right on the fish, LS for sure. You see the fish and your jig and can put the jig right in front of the fish.
