So me and my buddy are on Ray Bob. Saturday morning. We put in on the Northside of the lake, early. We were going for crappie, but realized the wind was too much to deal with for where we wanted to fish.
We pull out and head closer to the dam. First brush pile we pull up on in 30ft of water is slow. My buddy recently put a panoptics live scope on the boat, so crappie fishing has been super easy and fun Cant thank him enough.
He decided to throw a bass jig, past this pile, as we know there's a good chance for some bass.
First cast, i see him set the hook, just from the hook set i knew it was good. I set my crappie pole down and waited for it to surface. We dont keep a net on deck because of superstition. He got it high enough where i could lip it and get it in the boat. We took pictures and weight, but didnt get a length. It was 9.2lbs, if it was a spring fish, it would be easily a DD.
Just want to give a shout out to my buddy cubbies24 or whatever his screen name is here. Great fish, especially for Ray Roberts at the end of June

That must have been really fun for both of you. Know that feeling of having a large fish and no net. Good thing you were there to help him. Did you all throw back in the area to see if there was another on there? Really Nice fish. Great Job.
Excellent fish. She is a beautiful fish. Thanks for sharing.
