This year as all of my years, I fish some very isolated places. The walks are long but the scenery is simply "Out Standing"! The only noise you hear is birds chirping, Creeks/Rivers flowing, turkeys gobbling, and deer snorting. I catch a wide variety of fish as I fish for the trophy sunfish. Long Nose Gar, Channel Catfish, Large Mouth Bass, Rios (when able to get them to bite), Redbreast, Guadalupe Bass, Bluegill, and Redear. Was even able to catch a few records off the beaten trail. Fishing the Great State Of Texas! It just don't get any better! ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/06/full-52098-57162-dscf0034.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/06/full-52098-57163-dscf0035.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/06/full-52098-57165-dscf0002.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/06/full-52098-57172-dscf0022.jpg)

Great post Chuck. Love fishing those "Off the Beaten Path" places. Good job and cool pictures. Side Note: How difficult is it for you to fish water that is "Glass Clear"?

Thanks SK and Curtis for the replies. SK: Yes love those long walks. However during the summer months they can be a real workout. Curtis: Fishing in very clear water is a challenge. I change up the size sinkers and floats I use, along with the size hooks I use. I also try to be as still as I can be and to use what ever cover is available to hide by.

I envy the opportunities that you have to fish the hill country creeks and rivers. Beautiful country and waters in that area.

Great post Chuck! That’s one thing I’ve noticed a lot since we’ve been back. Fishing all these freestone Hill Country Rivers that have these great rock formations in them and how to utilize them. Even more important, how the fish utilize them! Excellent!

I figured the splash alone in that clear of water would scare just about any fish.

That is why I use very small split shots or go completely weightless. Several other factors play into fishing crystal clear water. Size of water body, depth of water, sky and weather conditions. fish population, and type of line.
