Hey all, was wondering if anyone had been to the Oasis Marina recently and if the carp are still there and good for fishing? Trying to put my buddy on some hard fighters.

The carp are always in the duck feeding area and you can get some from the pay fishing area. It has been really crowded lately.

Barge was crowded by 6:15Am, 2 people crossing my lines every cast. We made the walk to under the bridge and caught 6 of them, one of them was around 8 lbs and fought HARD. Also caught one that was silver and black? Never seen that before.

May have been a koi, depending on how the markings were. May also have been a buffalo.

It was definitely not a buffalo, I don't know the difference between koi and carp but by all accounts but color it appeared to be a gorgeous common carp.

Carp color variations do occur. I have caught carp that are gray, white, dark backed, and with long fins. Koi are the same species as common carp and they are found in many Texas ponds.
