Decided to make some brushpiles to help my crappie fishing out since they have been eluding me the last 5-6 trips out. Hopefully this will help me understand these crazy fish!

Enjoyed the video! My best advice is to sink something 4-5 times that size and green. Bigger piles are worth the effort more than small ones. Plus they are easier to stay on and fish. Green leaves draws the fish in really fast if it is in the right place

Green leaves draws the fish in really fast if it is in the right place I think the best thing to do is go to fishing area, find a good tree or buck brush on bank, saw it down, drag it to 20 FOW and sink it. Pick biggest tree you can handle, maybe multiple trees.

Hopefully you'll catch a bunch of crappie off of those piles! Nothing like catching fish off of a brush pile that you built or a jig that you made yourself.
"But God demonstrates His own for love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

At Lake Fork, Oak Ridge Marina had a giant tree blown down a few storms ago. The tree has been cut up and stacked near the parking lot/launch area. I'll bet you could get some good brush piles outta there. Might check with Barry first.... `

I will eventually but these are in the depths of the old guadalupe river. Making rock/brick/gravel piles benefit me more out on choke.
