Any recommendations on fly's to use for summer trout? Heading up for a weekend soon.

You are usually fishing for freshly stocked trout so fly selection is not too critical. I usually use a woolly bugger or swing olive RS2s or soft hackles (usually a brightly colored one like a partridge and orange or partridge and yellow). If I am nymphing with an indicator I use a two fly rig with a size 16-18 nymph (usually zebra midges of various colors) at the bottom with a tungsten weighted size 14 hare's ear or soft hackle hare's ear as the top fly. You can get more technical and try and match the hatch perfectly (and this can be fun) but in my opinion it usually isn't necessary.

Get ready. This time of year many places are filled with people swimming and floating on blowup floatiies

Daylight until about 10:30 you generally only have hikers and fishing

I assumed as much and was looking over maps for areas outside of the state park to get away from the crowds. Willing to travel, any better options further downriver?

Zone 2 is located downriver from the park. If you were wading then fishing in that zone is dependent on if they are generating electricity and releasing water. If they are releasing water I believe it is not wadeable. I am also not sure what the water temps are like in midsummer that far from the dam so it may be too warm for trout. But you might be able to get into some nice smallmouth bass
