Not too scare anyone, well maybe if it makes you pay attention. There is a section of the lake that looks wide open, guys run through it at WOT, never realizing that there’s trees like this just below the surface at the current lake levels. The tree above can’t be seen when there is any waves on the water, drive smart and look where you are going and not at your graph.


This is the same tree from a distance, you can’t see it when the waves are moving.

And there are thousands more just like that throughout the lake and the river. Cost me a lower unit 2 years ago and numerous dinged props over the years!

It got my attention last week when I was there. There will more in this area when the lake drops another couple of feet so lifejacket and kill switch should be high on drivers must do.

And that little stob you see in the picture, just imagine all the ones all around it that are just 7or 8 inches just under the surface you don't see. OMG

They are like petrified wood, or stone. Next time you tie up to a dead tree, try shaking it, even a small diameter stump and tell me how much it gives!

I've had with stumps before. I'll look it over on Friday so I'll have an idea of what to watch out for. I'll let ya know how the weekend turns out.

Anyone want to take a guess on the rainfall there next week? Looks like that TS14 may pass right over it. I think 4 inches is a good start.
