Then there's Optima Lake - about 50 years from start to finish - never filled up and the Corps abandoned it. frown

I just looked at a map of the lake. Looks like they put the damn on the wrong end. How embarrassing.

Nonsense. North is always up. Did you never see the movie City Slickers?

I've said this before and I'll say it a thousand times more - do NOT take the NTMWD's word for anything, even if it's in writing - it is not worth the paper it is written on (literally)!

I believe you are correct. We, here in liquor City, pay a lions share of water rate to NTMWD for water that we don't even get to use. NTMWD has the legal strength of HOA's.

Hope the Red River never gets into it. It'll be full of gar and grindle if so. Grindle are a nasty fish. People used to catch 100 lb. gar out of the river when I was a kid in SE Okla.

I don't think it will, but possible. Bois D Arc creek flows north to the Red River. I understand they are planning on an engineered water circulation method into and out of the creek, so gar and grinnel could possibly get in there.

They are wasting batteries, Google Earth has already done a great job.
I just need to know where they (if they did) leave any trees alone or piled some up.

Used to fish there when it was first impounded, the damn is like 2 miles long. It was about 500 acres in 1980 at it's peak and the valve on the spillway malfunctioned and never came to be. Palo Duro Lake located between Gruver and Perryton has fared a little better but not much. When the avg.yearly rainfall is about 16-18" a lake might not do well.

I know I am this time. smile They have lots more power than that. Just don't ever deal with them until you find an attorney who is familiar with the the tactics they are now using.

Caught lots of crappie, bass, hybrid stripers, and even 1 walleye from there back in the day. Sad deal.
