Last week, I "think" I figured something out mid morning and had myself a bonafied self made "pattern"

So question.......how many bites and/or location changes where you duplicate success before you actually
did figure something out and figured out a pattern for the day?

I did something (top secret smile and shallow and had success, moved a little bit to a same type location, had a couple more bites
moved to a 3rd close by location, couple more bites. Moved a significant distance to a duplicate situation....couple
of bites. I look up and by the end of the afternoon, I have had about 10 bites over about 4 hours and 6-8 different
locations all with the same characteristics, all duplicating what I think I found out. Yes on Fork.

Since this is about a 100% improvement over my usual middle of the day futility this time of the year, I think I am now ready
to chuck the job and go on the tour......... banana

When does a "figured out pattern" actually a pattern? Or, did I just get kind of lucky last week?

two fish, if you are setting the hook, then I will repeat and if I get bit then I will pull it away from them and continue to find other areas. This is the week before, as most tourneys are off limits 5 days prior.

If prefishing the day before, I don't set the hook and track the number of bites and pull away from them.

One is luck.
Two could be a pattern.
Three is a pattern.

When you know that the next cast is gonna catch one, it’s a pattern.

When I can get consistent bites in the same color, cover, depth, etc...then I have a pattern

But....patterns can change down the lake. Sometimes a top water bite can change for wind direction and a fraction of a degree in water temp.

When you know that the fish in an area are staging at certain depths, on similar structures, and keying in on a specific presentation or color (and eating it), that’s a pattern. You basically see the cover/structure, say there is a fish there, cast to it and catch it. That’s patterned out.

When you can replicate and sustain success using generally the same approach.
