Rumor is some tournament got caught up in the weather yesterday and sunk and/or capsized a boat or two?

Truth or rumor? Any details on what happened?

If it's true, hope all are well and safe.

When my kids came out to the house yesterday for Fathers Day dinner they said a tow boat was recovering a boat by one of the bridges on Loan Oak Rd. so guessing it is true, just need details.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

Texas High School Bass Association Regional event. They let the boys launch then storms hit. Capsized two boats. Tournament cancelled during the event. Everyone made it back safely. 1/2 the teams mad because they caught fish and couldn't weigh them. 1/2 teams very thankful about safety first.

I've heard conflicting reports on actual boats going under. I know for a fact that there were several boats that got swamped at the marina while pulled up by the ramp. Those boats were not occupied at the time. Kids and captain were in the marina. There was a pic floating around Facebook of a boat floating upside down. According to the lady that posted it the captain and kids got swamped and had to swim to shore.I talked to a few captains and they said it got really bad out there for an hour or so. THSBA did post that all kids and captains were accounted for and safe. Thank god for that.

Not sure why you would launch a bunch of kids in boats, everyone has a radar app or should have a radar app on their phone. Passing judgement here and I shouldn't I was not there. The storms on the North end of the Lake where we live and on up into Gainesville were pretty intense this weekend.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

Glad everyone made it back safe.

My nephew was a captain for a couple kids from his old HS. When I saw I missed his call at 10 my heart sank until I talked to him and found out he was ok. He was just calling to tell me that it got cancelled and he was ok. He also said the may not make it up. How will they make that right if they don’t make it up?

I checked the weather several times Saturday night and the system that showed up Sunday Morning came from out of Nowhere. When we launched Sunday Morning I could see stars and did not check the radar at that time as I had just checked it about 5 hours before and did not see anything at 5am that would lead me to believe the weather reports had changed. We actually did not really have any issues with the weather or the wind, I saw it coming and we changed our location on the lake to accommodate the change in weather. We found out about 11am that it was cancelled and went straight to the Ramp and loaded up without any issues other than a little wet. We did have to put fish back in the lake and I am glad that everyone is safe. I never saw any boats capsized and the waves we fought getting back to the ramp were about 2'ers. I will be back out there next Sunday and maybe we can work spot 1 a little better if there are no storms

Exactly what I did...then went and slung 40 bags of mulch instead with lightning / thunder all around.
