Had a chance to run out to Palo Pinto Lake Sunday afternoon. I had never been on the lake before and was delighted we found a school of sandies after a long search. Sat in one spot and just fish after fish for an hour and a half. Most were over 10" and a few were close to 14". Nice little lake, not as deep as I had thought it would be. Slabs were the key to catching. Cast it out and bump it back to the boat.

Back to Grapevine Tuesday afternoon. I hope this weather didn't hurt it too much.

Hybrids are there as well, have been elusive for us. The lake is packed with bait .

I was hoping to stumble across one, but never got one. But we only had half a day to buzz around the lake and fish a few places.
I'll be back. Felt like I was at Cooper or something. 10 boats using the lake. After dealing with Grapevine a week ago on a Saturday, this was a nice day of no crowd.
