Maybe I’m missing some logic here. The subject was truck weapon. I have two carry guns depending on the potential problems I might encounter. EDC is a .357 mag. High feral areas carry 1911 with two mags. But truck gun isn’t concealed on your person. And rolling up on a threat or situation is potentially more dangerous than a hood rat at the 7/11. I’ve been been back heavy traveling a month and people have gone psycho. Seriously mad and just mean. A threat now might very well include a vehicle or as we’ve witnessed a crowd. The crack about my automag was not trying to be funny. A big piece of iron will de-escalate a roadside problem way faster than something they can’t see. And if the situation calls to go through a windshield then it’s better to can than can’t.
Just another opinion. Just for you Pat....a couple of my de-escalate specials!

I kept a kimber 1911 in my truck forever. Learned to shoot a 1911 style .45 when I was a kid. My Dad could shoot the tops off of coke bottles....yeah he was that good with a .45...:) I got a chance to test shoot the Sig 320X a couple weeks ago and that's gonna be my next carry weapon. Liked the way it shot, layout is very similar to a 1911 so muscle memory training wont be a problem. The only problem is finding one right now....that isn't jacked up in price. Normal price used to be around $600 but everyone I found lately is past $800. Not gonna pay price gouging prices so I'll wait until supply catches up to demand and prices return to somewhat normal.

spend some of that budget on getting your CHL so you dont have to leave a gun in your truck when you go into places. worst place to leave a gun.

Just another opinion. If thats the case, youre WAY better off with an AR pistol with a brace, than any handgun.

I've had one of these shoved under the seat of the truck for a while now: Take it out every 6-8 weeks and spray it down with WD-40 and wipe off the excess. I feel safe knowing I'm protected. I just traded a Tech9 with 2 50rd mags for a Sig Saur 938 at Tomball pawn. Mine would rock thru one mag and then jamb 10x on the next. It was cool but the Sig is much more useful.

I've always liked the look of them guns but wondered if they're worth it. Might have to grab one to play with. They never have anything like that at my local pawn. I dont stop in a lot maybe 2 times a year.

I just bought an FNH FNS-9C. It had by far the best feel for me in my hand. After I got home I was looking for reviews because I had never heard of FNH. That's probably the opposite way to do it, but I bought because it was a good fit for me. Anyway, I found a great review that claims it might knock the Glock 19 off the top of the "Best " list. FNS-9C

This would have to be my newest gun but it’s already a couple years old. Someday will get the suppressor for it. But for now it’s a fun gun to shoot with little kick back compared to the new polycarbonate type guns in the market.

Yep I do like my Kimber as well. It shoots better than the guy on the trigger...:) I've had a CHL in every state I have lived in and carried that Kimber everywhere. Just looking for something a little lighter and smaller like the Sig320C I mentioned earlier. I'd probably get a good Gemtech Suppressor to go with it...:)

Hell, From rappers to Kurt Russel in Big Trouble in Little China, and Clinton telling me I couldn’t have one. I got one. You’d be better off with a slingshot.
