I know this rod is a St. Croix, having trouble finding any other info on it, as a teen, my father did some work for a neighbor and she gave him some of her deceased husband's fishing gear as payment, that was in the mid 1970's, he still fishes with this rod today, any info is appreciated

Have you tried doing a rubbing with fine paper and charcoal over the printed words that you can't read? Can't see if there is enough wording there to tell you anything.
