I have downloaded the current update and replaced triple shot transducer and still have no sonar functions. Chart works speed and temp as well. No sonar just a solid orange screen. HELP ! I would appreciate it. Lowrance is impossible to get on the phone.

Are you absolutely sure you have the right transducer?

I assume you have a Hook, and not a Hook 2 (though I don't know if it matters in this case). Has it ever worked? Who did the install, and was a setup done? These units are very complex. Gone are the days of connect power and turn it on. I'd bet money there was nothing wrong with the transducer. Did you read the manual? Confirm that sonar was enabled, and that the transducer was connected to the correct port, and that port is selected/enabled in the settings? I'd bet 99% of the "it's broken" upon installation reports I read here are a failure to read and follow required steps. With all the owners I've assisted (and I lost count long ago) not one time did I ever end up saying "well, it's broke, you need a new one". In every single case, it was a botched install, setup, or operator error.
Make sure that the transducer you are using is selected in 'Transducer Type' found under SETTINGS>SONAR>INSTALLATION. Under 'Transducer Type' verify that your current transducer is listed. If you see 'Unknown', press 'Transducer Type' and select your transducer from the list. Under 'Source' be sure the correct channel is selected. Channel 1 is the blue connector. Channel 2 is the black connector. (<-- This is where you probably blew it, and why you have no sonar.)
Let me known if I won the bet. I'm betting the port selected in the unit's settings and the port you plug the tripleshot into do not match!

There is only one transducer that’s works with this unit so therefore no selection to be made. Triple shot transducer. Hook 2 -9TS.

Interesting. I've never been aware of chronic failures (in general). I've had Lowrance transducers for nearly 30 years, and never had a failure, but never owned a TS either. Yes, if they've been banged into stuff badly, you can expect it eventually. But not just "out of the blue". Hit many things with it?
In this case, I think it's a new install, and he already bought another transducer. He's never had a sonar image on the screen yet, so I'm still thinking setup.

Have you tried a hard reset?

Good thought, Bill. It's apparently a new install, so there would be nothing to lose, making the option easy. No data save step necessary. Maybe even do a return to factory defaults too, just in case some setting got fouled up one way or another.

Yes hard reset tried. This is not a new install. Yes factory defaults tried nothing. I do get water temp. But nothing as far as sonar , down or side scan. Chart works. This unit dosnt have very much to navigate thru really simple. Was working until transducer got busted off transom. Purchased new triple shot transducer which is the only one for this unit. Moved it to front on trolling motor head with the addition of triple shot mount made for a fortrex from Russell Marine. 32 mb micro sdcard downloaded update in which unit accepted but no change still a solid orange screen or whatever color is selected in palette. It’s scrolling on screen but nothing it’s like a DOA transducer.

You need a neighbor with a compatible unit installed then I guess, given some chance it could be the transducer. However, shouldn't you be able to change the color palette in sonar settings even if there is a bad transducer? Did you confirm the settings I discussed in my other post? Especially that you have selected the correct port in settings. Change it to the other one if you have to, just to check that. Also confirm that it is detecting that the transducer is there by seeing it listed in the settings.

Yes I can change palette colors no problem. There are no port settings. It’s simple - 2 pin power cord and 1 8 pin plug from unit to transducer. Again there are no transducer selections no port settings this unit only takes one transducer a TS triple shot hence the name Hook 2 TS tripleshot. The settings you are referring to are for some other unit.

My bad. I actually looked at info on the Lowrance website and read some of the install/user manuals. I must have gotten onto another version or another unit somehow - that's a model above yours.

does your downscan/sidescan work? On my TPS the 2d sonar went away and the down and side worked fine.

How did you put that big transducer on your trolling motor ? Mine would stick all the way back into the prop. I had to replace a power cord to make mine work.

I checked out Russell Marine, first time I've seem a trolling motor bracket for the Hook 2 triple shot. Thanks, hope you find out a solution to your problem.
