I "caught" three fish today.

Took my wife out, me with a spinning combo armed with a small 2" swim bait, shad colored. Her with a zebco 33 I got at a garage sale with a Blakemore roadrunner.

After fishing awhile we ended up under a bridge at a creek. She stopped fishing so I on a whim took up that Zebco and threw the roadrunner. A bass struck it I estimated to be a 2-3 pounder.

After a brief fight the rod snapped in two. Further efforts to land the fish ended when the line broke and the fish took the rod half and jig into the water.

I inspected the rod and found super glue at the point where it broke. Damn garage sale rods.

I then switched to my spinning rod and my swim bait which was on a bladed roadrunner jig head.

Two more fish hit but I didn't land either of them. Both got off right before I was able to grab them.

I still consider it a good day of fishing.

I was aight fishing in a little creek and saw a big bass swim into his bed. I tossed a top water frog at him and he hit it HARD, so hard the bait flew out of the water. Well after that he got suspicious and defensive and wouldn’t bite.... it was cool to see though

Happened to me many times. Either my 4-lb line was broken, or big fish went to brush and my line got snagged.

Splint the rod where it's broken with a couple of pop sickle sticks and wrap it with a couple of duct tape.

They call it "fishing" for a reason . . . . .

It ain't catchin' . . . . . .

Some kind of action is better than no action.

Congratulations on the fish. I’ve gotten some great deals at garage sales and also have been taken a few times. That is all part of the garage sale game.
