Hey all,

I will be visiting Lake Whitney for a week starting on Sunday the 21st, looking for any general advice/techniques to catch a few bass while I am there. I will only have a small boat so covering water will be difficult. Any other places in the area I could catch a few at? Thanks

The area around the state park ramp is good for a small boat.

Please send me an Email and I will try to direct you into the backwaters of a couple of creeks with lay-downs. fishnteacher@gmail.com
- It will take some time to get to these far away areas; by driving around the lake to an access road.

Harbor Master would be a good spot for you. It has a ramp and lots of floating docks to fish and is well protected in a south wind. There are several coves to hit nearby as well.

If you launch at Harbour Master be careful backing down the ramp there is a big hole on the left side. We bottomed out a fender and knocked it loose. However there were sandbaass schooling everywhere and we each caught a keeper LMB in the marina.

What's the deal for using their ramp? I've driven up there before and went to use their ramp but despite looking I couldn't see who to pay. This was 10 am and I couldn't find a soul.

Also, do you mean the left side when looking out toward the water?
