Baby booya jig is great size for Guads
When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip! #Brockstarama

Spinners, crankbaits, top water, chatter baits, swimbaits, or worms and creature baits. Just down size the lure for guards. If you really want to catch a Guadalupe bass, they really like earthworms lol.

+1 on a small jig like the baby booyah or strike king bitsy bug. Personally Iโd use a medium to medium heavy-moderate fast to fast spinning rod with 20lb braid to 10 or 12lb test leader of your preference

Before the demise of Lake Wood, I used Beetle Spins, 1/8 oz. ball jigs with yellow Mr. Twister ribbon tails. Caught a few on purple 4" worms.

Gauds are WAY more aggressive.... Just fish a smaller whatever and they will be all over it

In the river, look for drain areas.. Guads will get right up in heavy current. Caught some nice ones last week on weightless Dingers. They are very strong

In shallower, faster moving waters like upper Guadalupe, Llano....itโs always been hard to beat a 3โ-4โ curly tailed grub on a 1/4oz jig head in chartreuse.
