Some know I have been chasing crappie in my 8' 2 man baby bass hunter for quite a few years. I finally upgraded to a new to me 17'5" Nitro but need to replace TM and electronics.
I know I need to get some version of spot lock/ipilot and want to have graphs work together with it all. Who do you recommend to install it all and maybe they sale it as well. I don't mind buying from retailer and finding an installer but looking for recommendations on set up and who to use. I know graphs are preference but I think I want to go HB or Garmin so let's hear some advice from you guys that have a nice set up and who did the work.

Of course I will have to learn how to use the electronics to their potential as well. Thanks for any help

If you have the time and any mechanical abilities at all you can do it yourself. It is not difficult and YouTube is your friend.
If not, David is your guy.

I agree its very easy with basic abilities. I have a 17.5 nitro as well. So far I've replaced all wiring in the boat (previous owner didn't know what he was doing almost burnt boat down while on water). Upgraded all electronics to Lowrance (all brands are pretty much the same). Just added a new minnkota Trolling motor (only because motorguide I wanted has been on back order since covid). looking back I wish I had gone with humming bird that way my new trolling motor would work and I could have upgraded to the link and draw lines to follow. But the lower model is just as good and keeps me locked in place with trails I set on the remote. mounting a new trolling motor by yourself is a pain but got it done in about 5 hours taking a lot of breaks.

I can promise you not all brands when it comes to electronics are the same.

I’ve been using Lowrance over a decade.

I’ve been using a Garmin 126sv with a GT-54UHD Transducer since Christmas.

Garmin is the new king in the electronics arena.

Try one out and see firsthand.

There is no comparison in my opinion.

If I was buying a boat and installing electronics it would be Garmin all the way.

Can't go wrong with David. He installed my Garmin 93sv. Straight up guy. He takes pride in his work.

I use Garmin on the Livescope, BUT I am a Humminbird fan. On my boat I have 2 Humminbird Helix 12's, 1 Garmin 1022 and one Lowrance i7 Hook. I have to say that I like the Humminbird so much better than all the other graphs. The Humminbirds are networked so one in front and one in back allowing me to see all point marked on either unit. Once I figured out how to turn on the lane markers on the humminbird I was happy. The Lowrance is in there because I had it in my old boat and had stuff marked that I did not want to loose. Now there really is no reason for it, but if I take it out, there is a hole so it stays in!

For Livescope I agree. I had 2 up front, one Livescope and the other for di/si and 2d. It couldn’t hold a candle to Lowrance or HB. I removed it and put another Lowrance in its place. I’d say match your graph to the trolling motor you choose and then get a dedicated Livescope system. The go to feature I’m not willing to give up now.

What transducer were you using? What Garmin unit?

I'm using a 126sv with a GT-54UHD Transducer.

Not all transducers are the same.

The above combo that I am using Lowrance is not even in the game.

I will try to get some actual pictures next trip with Lowrance and the Garmin to show the comparison whenever I'm able to get out again.

As with anything in fishing find what works best for you and in your budget.
