So I recently bought a generator (Honda eu2200i) and a PAR64 Can with a few GE 13233 FFN’s. I was just wondering what everybody is using for fill light around the area where your bait buckets and tackle are. I’ve heard of some people using cheap clamp on lights. I thought about getting a few 100-150 watt LED Flood Lights.
Any suggestions on a good quality light for this that is very bright? Seems like you can’t really trust Amazon reviews anymore as they’re mixed with a lot of paid, fake, and competitors reviews.
Last question: Can you buy shrimp in the middle of the night at any of these bait shops? What are their typical hours of operation?

We use a 60 what shop light to minimize the bugs. Depends on where your fishing but some places are 24 hrs but if the they don't have a good aerator system all the shrimp will be dead and you'll have to wait until morning for the live shrimp to be dropped off.

Thx man. I ended up buying two 100w LED flood lights. I probably should stock up on mosquito spray. Bait always seems to be an issue with a lot of these stores. I need a solid 24/7 consistent bait shop. :-)

Where on the coast are you? The farther south the harder to find bait 24/7. Get some storm 2" wildeye shad swim baits and put them under a popping cork if you can't find live bait.

Depending on how many are fishing with you, but two five gallon buckets with the small aerators should last you until you ketch a limit. Put a quart of shrimp in one and 3 to 4 dozen croaker in the other... You will probably find the larger fish eating croaker ... good luck

I’m in the Galveston area. Is south towards padre? I know I’m on the Upper coast. I’ll try those shad swim baits. Where can I find them?

I love fishing with live shrimp. :-) Croaker, Finger mullet, and Mud minnows are good too.

Boyd's in Texas City has been my 24/7 go to place in the summer. Places on the Island are iffy. Academy usually carries the swim baits.

I used to like to take my generator and lights down to Texas City Dike and setup. My kids are all grown and do their own thing now so I got nobody to go with. It can get crowded, so getting there early Friday to grab a spot helps.
