The Texas City Dike will be closed weekends while State Order is in effect. Unless crowds become an issue during the week, the Dike will remain open from 8 a.m. Mondays to 5 p.m. Fridays.

Governor's order raises an essential activity, but Galveston commercial fishing piers and charter companies have been closed since last week.

Can someone confirm that the Texas City Dike is now open on weekends? As of June 16th?

I plan to go down in July and would hate to throw a wrench in my fishing plans.

If you are going to fish it from a boat, is it easier to launch from the dike, or is there a ramp somewhere nearby with more parking? Never been there, but I assume since space is a premium it may make boat and trailer parking not always easy to find in the summer?

Depends on the time you get there. Early early or just before lunch is easiest so far.

I forgot about that ^^^^. I think if you get there before 5am ....no charge bc they haven't set up the "Toll Both" and cones in the road. There are a few ramps all along the dike. I've always used the big ramps at the every end of the dike. No fee there and plenty of parking. Lock your doors and keep your goodies out of sight.
