I recently installed a powerwinch on my trailer. i prefer not to use the winch hook to 'hold' the boat on the trailer along with the transom straps. What i'm wondering is what other options do i have to hold the boat on the trailer without using the powerwinch hook to do that job.

Mount a ratcheting boat buckle to the front of your trailer.

Boat Buckle is what I use. They make a single strap retractable ratchet kit for bow installation. In most cases it is a one bolt installation. (bolt included, you drill the hole)
