Found the sandbass out in 22ft of water yesterday.. The long point that goes (Murrell park) out about 500 yards if you look at a topo map of the lake. The point is the one at the entrance of the small private dock cove. Flat out killed em, kept some big ones for eating. Was slow locating them and then dialed in on them at about 2pm. Jigging worked ok, but casting a jig as far as you can, then bumping it along and then three fast cranks was magic. We were going to keep about 6 for dinner, but little [censored] kept adding to the well. Prob caught 150ish.. Slowed down around 730ish. We were anchored, going to splurge on a spot lock trolling motor in the near future.. At 6pm a father and son practically drove up to us, I waved him over to the side of us about 30 yards. They said I was sitting on top of their waypoint. Had a good visit with a very nice man, and his son. Mason landed a 14.5lb buffalo on light line which was snagged. Fun day with many boats out on the water. When we came in there was at least 100 patrons at big daddys restaurant, all on the dock eating shoulder to shoulder.. What the hell! Will be more people getting sick.. Mason threw the Mckraken 10 lure rod and landed 5 fish on the first cast.. Mason is a fish cleaning machine with a fillet knife and glove.. Prosise

Yep that's the spot that has been producing. Varies from day to day, but you just scan the area till you find them. Wish I had a fish cleaner like that.

Sounds like good days on the water for both of you. Is Murrell park open again? My brother and his kids will be in town so we will probably hit GV from the bank this weekend.

Yesterday: Gar getting bad! Many schooling fish found in front of paradise cove on the south side early. Strolled own the south side all the way up to the beach. Bait slim on south side of the lake vs north side as wind is pushing into the north banks. In the 9am timeframe we saw many schools feeding in paradise cove but fish were 4-6". Seeing fish deep in many of the main lake points which go way out, and humps holding fish. The fish we locate are not very large groups, looks like more small gatherings. Fish holding onto the bottom and reacting well to the spoon vertically in daytime. Noticed some massive bait gatherings just east of murrell park in a light mudline, cranes working bait all afternoon. Fish not hanging around, gar are running them off it seems. Main point we worked (Sun & Mon) way out in front of Murrell was slow for sandbass and Cats yesterday. Son caught 11 small gaspergoo on a small castking spoon (his new record). Mom and baby girl came out at 7 so we just anchored up and enjoyed the lake until @930pm. Lake sure is nice on the weekdays, sundays are just plain crazy.. One cool thing mason found out on the long point in front of murrell is a brush pile, about half way from bank to the very end (maybe 300yds out). Caught 3 bass with a carolina rig using a zoom Terminator lizard pulling thru the small planted "thing". One was about 2.25 others were @ 1.5'lbs in 30 minutes. Lowrance gps info N 32 59.356 W097 05.148. no sandbass caught near brush. For the day maybe caught 30 nice sandbass but it was work, nothing to write home about.

Great reports. Headed out tomorrow on South Side in my Kayak. Hope to find them somewhere without any electronics.

I will be out today after 4 to check on a few spots as well. Maybe the wind will die down a little. I haven't had much luck at the island lately but will try and scan that area again.

Fished around the Island area and Dove Loop ramp this morning until around 1230 and it was windy in the Yak.
Only caught 2 sandies but did manage to catch 8 largemouth on TX Rigged worms.
No fish on top and no birds working the area. Maybe they are hanging on the North side this time of the month.

I was out Thursday evening in the wind and waves and we did horrible. Only landed a 2 lb cat and one sandie. Went to 4 or5 places and did not find a spot worth stopping to fish.

Prosise! We ended up with quite a few fish. We kept moving around for a while, but ended up back over about 200 ft from where you were at. Addison was pretty stoked about that big blue cat. She caught another 4 lb channel cat. Not a bad day for sure. They were not hot and heavy but slow and steady. They seemed to quit about 7 pm.
