I could have popped that out for you in two seconds and you could have kept on fishing. Have had to do it twice in the past 4 weeks. One on a fishing buddy and one on a guy that was fishing alone.

No joke....I got double hooked in my thumb and pointer finger. Buried both barbs.
Grabbed some pliers and on the third yank I got one out and on the fourth I got the other. Little bit of electrical tape and back to fishing.
Last weekend I had a buddy bury a jig in my scalp through my hat. One good hard jerk and it was out and back to fishing.
I tried to get the barb out of my thumb but couldn’t get ‘er done. The one in the index finger was straight in and deep. The maintenance people at the ER had to bring down some large wire cutters to cut the hook so the doctor could pull it through. All this happened on my second cast this morning. Saved the lure and back home now so all is good.
Unfortunately I have had more than one opportunity to try this method! Really works! Loop of heavy line, push the eyelet tight against your skin and quickly “POP” it out! Magic! https://youtu.be/U3kSCeT9jH8
I remember seeing that video and thought about trying it but determined since I had a hook in 2 fingers that would really be difficult without moving the one I wasn’t trying get out yet. My thumb and index finger were pinned together.
I freakin HATE TREBLE HOOKS. I don't care what they say, "aww come on wussy you don't need pliers." LMAO. Yeah, I'm using pliers anyway for this very reason.

Had a slimy trout smack a crank way back in the day. Anyway he slipped out of my grip taking the crankbait and trebles with him until it hit my hand. I keep a heavy duty pair of linesman crimpers with me. I cut the trebles at the bend the grabbed the ends with my pliers pushed down on the shank and pushed each hook through. Fished the rest of the day.
You went to the hospital for a hook in your finger ?
Picture may not show it but I had 2 hooks in my hand in 2 fingers at different angles. That made it a little more difficult to pull one or the other out. The ER made more sense to me at least.
