Got out early and stayed until the pleasure boaters ran me off. The crappie didnt want it Saturday, at least nothing I was showing them. Ended up with a few keepers for the freezer and prob threw back just as many dinks. Was using a 1/8 oz jig with a 1/16 oz jig about 18 inches above it. They seemed to prefer the smaller of the two. 1.5 inch baby bass tiny shad on an orange head seems to be my most productive color right now. Hard to say it is very productive though..... Maybe some local old timers can give me some pointers? (or points loaded with brush piles)
Nice catch Moose! There are a few guys on this forum that do real well on Belton lake but it's generally only certain times of the year. Honestly I would think they would be into them by now. I have been busy but just purchased livescope and hope to have it installed this week. Really hope it gives me an advantage.
Just because you cant SEE a path thru the wilderness doesnt mean that God cannot MAKE a path thru the wilderness ,, . with Jesus u will never walk alone.
Aaaaahhhh the pleasure boaters..... It's that time of year and early is definitely the time to be out there.... I don't fish Belton but on my lakes right now small is definitely preferred and high contrast baits has been the best on colors of baits..... Nice catches and Stay At'um...
Jigging; it's faster than chasing a minner in a bucket!
