Since the heat is on us I decided Fayette would not be jammed packed so I went yesterday (Sunday) to try my luck. I got a Garmin Livescope system installed recently so I wanted to give it some more time on the water. Last two times I used it I could see the fish moving around and sitting on moving around and sitting on the beds. This time I found the fish as well but not as many were on the beds. I also for the first time caught about a dozen or so smaller gills. Anyway the bass guys were pounding the banks so a couple of areas I did not get to try. I caught a decent amount of fish and they were still somewhat deep. Next trip Im going to see if I can find them shallow with crank baits and beetle spins.

Tom...One crankbait I have had some success on is the Yazuri rattlin vibe. They make a real tiny one that is god for sunfish as well as bass...

LiveScope. That is some major voodoo !! I replaced my 12 inch Lowrance Gen 3 unit on my console and 7 inch Gen 2 unit on my bow.. I was originally going to go with Lowrance but when I found out that their version of "live" was Garmin's 1st generation of Livescope, I started to do some more checking on the Garmin and Hummingbird units. Besides the Livescope, the biggest factor is Garmin is so much easier to use than its competitors. I found my Lowrance units very complicated to use and my particular units always had some gliches when software was updated. That frustrated me to no end. A friend of mine who had Hummingbird also switched to Garmin because of ease of use. I got estimates from 3 places that sold all 3 brands and 2 of them said the same comment about ease of use.

I've had good luck for big Bluegill and Sunfish with two crank baits: a Matzuo Nano Crank in Shiner color and the Strike King Bitsy Minnow in Gizzard Shad.
