Been running behind on reports but here’s the latest! Been on Tawakoni. Pines and Fork the last couple days. Had a father and son on Tawakoni that we rescheduled from earlier in the week because of the wind and we struggled for the first 2 hours but made some adjustments and had 50 in the box 2 hours later. Only my second trip there this year and the pattern was completely different than last weeks trip. With the tourney there next weekend I’m not gonna give out any details there.

Next was Pines! Haven’t been there since March but I needed to go look at a buddy’s roof over there and had a couple call me that was camping out at Ally Creek and wanted to get into some slabs. Fishing there is awesome but a long day for me. I get up at 430 to meet folks at 7am on Pines. I’m going to be going up to $400 for a half day there and $500 a full day from now on. That said my half day is generous in my opinion. I meant to grab minnows to tip jigs with but drove off with the bucket still in the shop so we tipped jigs with nibbles and eased through timber till we had 50 in the box. Pines sure has some healthy slabs. Fished 18-38’ deep in submerged timber and fish were 12-16’ down. They lost several fish at the boat but still managed several 1.5-1.80 class fish with a paper thin kicker of 2.22.

Lastly I was on Fork with repeat client Jeff and this time he brought his daughter Elyse with him to beat up on some slabs! Her brother Owen was with me last trip on Palestine and he had been showing pictures to his sister so she wanted to get in on the action! Jeff is a heck of a stick and can pretty much step on the boat and do his thing so it made it easy for me to help sister whoop on them slabs! Today was one of those days where I made the right call from the get go and fish were everywhere we went. Again we fished timber in 18-28’ deep with fish 12-16’ down mostly. Tipped jigs with minnows here and had had 50 before 11am! Elyse advises her dad she caught the first fish. Most fish and the biggest! As well as the most species! But she wasn’t keeping score or anything! roflmao

Summertime is my favorite time to fish and it’s filling up fast. I still have 2 days left in June and some weekday and weekend dates in July and August. It’s hot out but so is the fishing. Holler if you want to come get some!!

Great report Todd! What kinda jig do you prefer when tipping with minnows?

I’m using 1/8oz with a kicker split shot above it this time of year. Small hand ties I make myself. Color isn’t as important as profile IMO. Chart and white and Shad colored are tied on all summer in my boat. Make it 4 trip! 4 lakes! 4 limits!

I have some availability the end of the month and next month as well!!

Thanks Bentley for bringing your wife to beat up on some Palestine slabs with me again! Enjoyed it sir!
