My Shimano Stradic FLs have served me very well so far. Possibly the best Stradic ever made and easily the best reel at that price point, IMO.

Second the Shiman Stradic. Love them and a pleasure to fish with.
Hold up good for the long haul and if something does happen you can get parts for them.

Daiwa has some pretty solid offerings for spinning reels in the 100-200 range, like the Fuego ($100) and the Tatula LT ($180 I think). Also Shimano has the Nasci ($100) and Ultegra ($150) you could try out as well if you don’t want to max out the budget. All are available in 2500 size and all are exceptional quality for their respective price points.
The Stradic FL, however, might be one of the best spinning reels ever created when considering quality, value, refinement. I really feel like it looks and feels a lot more expensive than it actually is. I have 2 of them and I’ll tell you this much, you will not be disappointed with it if you pick one up. Casting is great, retrieval is ultra smooth, it’s light and balanced out well on my rods.

The Shimano Stradic FL in the under $200.00 price range or spend just a little more and go with the Shimano Stradic Ci4+!  BP / Cabela's had the Stradic Ci4+ on sale the other day for $149.00!  I tried to order one first thing that morning, I got a confirmation that my order was in, and then 2 days later I check their website and it said canceled.

I really appreciate all the responses. I have 2 Shimano Stratic Ci4 2500 reels that I love. I thought I ordered another one when Bass pro had them on sale last week for $149. I had ordered the 4000 by mistake. Of course they are out of stock on the 2500 and they are discontinued. I returned the 4000 and got a refund. After reading this thread I'm seriously thinking about the Tatula LT or a Stradic FL., any thoughts? I'm going to check out several of those mentioned. Thanks again.

Shimano Stradic is a great reel. Smooth and holds up for the long term.
