All,

Heading up today to college station to hang with my son, we rarely fish together and looking for evening place near College Station for bank bass fishing. (don;t have boat). Do Lake Bryan and/or Gibbons have any bank fishing opps where there is a remote chance to catch something? If not, any other ideas around Bryan/CS?

Thanks,
Jim

Lake Bryan is a waste of time.
There are some decent ponds around town. I've had good luck at the old golf course pond on College @ Villa Maria.
Research Park and the George Bush Library are supposed to be good.

Son backed out on fishing so I went to Research Park ponds and caught 6 and also lost 2. Did not realize there was a no fishing sign until I circled this one area! Good grief. Also came across Central Baptist Church that has 2 ponds with Catch and Release signs.
One has tons of hydrilla and hard to fish. Other one looks like a nice tank but did not catch anything. Too hot at the church ponds.

Some pretty decent bank fishing at Gibbons between the ramp and the swim area. Bunch of lilly pads in that area and I’ve always been able to get bites when fishing it from the boat.
