Small cell moved thru early in the day so we left right after it passed. Wow.. Nice Sunday on the Lake, felt like a weekday as there wasn't much traffic.. Few light rains helped cool us down, but we jumped in a few times. Launched and went up mid lake to do some exploring, had a good time looking around on a new area of shoreline on the north side of the lake. Came down to Murrell point and it was a ghost town, spent about 20 minutes out on the tip before we moved in. Up near the north west point of the cove with the small marina in it, there was small sandies schooling. Caught a bucket full of small fish before we went back to the large spoon and started working down on the bottom. Mason even pulled the upside down reel technique when a boat came by. The area was real close to the brush we planted a few weeks back. We started catching real good fish near the drop to the deeper water, many were in the 15" length.. Had a couple in the 16" range. Prob caught 150 fish but only about 60 were over 10". There is a ton of bait at the mouth of the cove and the fish are close, never did catch any fish way out on the point today. We went back out just to check but there wasn't any takers when we went out there.. Headed back in and started catching fish.. A good cell formed over Grapevine and we saw some big Wx forming and saw quite a bit of lightning, nothing near us but many lightning seen so we headed in at 5:20.. Mason had some things to do, but the fishing was just starting to get good. Cleaning boat & about to cook some shrimp, nothing kept.. If anyone has info on meadowmere shoot me a IM. I have been going out to the main point which drops off quickly, visually you can see the parasailing outfit. I see fish and bait but they are not cooperating. Let me know if Im missing something, just not seeing much in this area, and not connecting with any fish.. Wind was blowing from the north and still not seeing any activity along the banks over there.. God Bless and hope all are staying healthy.

BTW if someone is missing their village idiot he is out on the lake driving around near fisherman..

You're Killin me Smalls!

Looking good! I may venture out in the next couple of days.

Meadowmere has not panned out for me this year either, but it's still early. It can be real good even in August/Sept.
Last year we sat and caught a fish every cast for 2 hours about 100 yds out in front of the obstacle course.

Last year was Rock Crusher and Murrell. This year Murrell has been top dog for me.

Nice day,but left too early. Darn storm looked like it was going to be worse than it was.. By the time I got to Trophy club it melted away. Long story short, same as yeaterday.. Caught Allot of fish, the early bite was solid and good. Like before small fish schooling, big fish on the bottom. Although the topwater bite cahnged about 4pm when I caught some 15" fish schooling, I give credit to the guide who was working his magic.. Can't say what he did, but it worked.. The guide came in with a big group and they got on the fish pretty quick, & they caught fish.. Guide got some bigger fish to come up and play on top, I caught some in the 15" range on 6lb test and a small castmaster.. Going tomorrow early to see how it goes.. I didn't get to the lake until 10am and I instantly started catching fish midway in on the long point (east side right on the drop). It slowed down about 1pm and was feast or famine in a few minutes. Bait is still hugging the north bank & mouth of the cove. Only thing that sucked was Little man didn't come today to help me out. I did go down towards the dam and hit several humps but didn't find any takers. Not seeing much going on down there, other than some small groups schooling on top. Wx was calm and hot, almost too calm. I like a little wind to break the surface a little, and help me cool down. Did jump in several times.. Pay attention to the picture of the graph, you can see how I was working the drop. This was very helpful. Solo prob landed 100 keepers, and 50 dinks on the top bite. BTW fish started turning on at 4pm with a good surface feeding out on the point, and caught some good ones on bottom.

Long story short, it sucked today for sandbass. But we made a fishing contact which I know will help teach Mason something down the road.. I really enjoyed our visit today, and will touch base with you on the info.. Started at 6:20 and it was not on, I need an excuse because we didn't kill them today so I will say it was the moon or something. Really didn't find them feeding, just a few stragglers here and there. Fish are off the drop but they have lock jaw. Left at 5pm, and I know it probably turned on but we did the lawn so we could go out tomorrow. Went down the North bank with nothing on the surface, stopped by the rock crusher and looked at it. Headed up to the beach and its out of the water, nice swim and cooled down. Went over to a bank near the Beach and Mason found some really cool bottles.. Not posting any pictures of fish as you have seen them before, but Masons Bottles are really cool. The green Coca Cola bottle is stamped Dallas..

Once again, (you know who you are) thanks for the info and will be talking soon..

Prosise-your reports over the last few months have been MUCH appreciated. From your canoe trips up the river to the main lake sandbass hunting. I don't get to fish Grapevine very often so when I get a last minute request to take an out-of-town friend fishing, your detailed reports will be even more appreciated. I've got a couple of hours tomorrow morning to be the hero. Hopefully they will be feeding better than they did for you yesterday!

Nothing to report, the sand bass fishing is slow and we worked hard today.. Mason said something that was interesting, he said "Maybe their just full". He said, everywhere we go there is shad so their prob just full. I have no reason, so I will stand behind little man. Caught a few sandies on the point, three gaspergoo, and then changed to bass fishing. Did go back and find several old coca cola bottles which was kinda neat. Hot out there, we went thru 1.5 gallons of water today.. Hope someone else has some info.. We did hit just about every point on the south side going up to the beach, and then all the points coming back on the north. The west entrance of twin coves has some good fish marking at 23ft, but not cooperating. Take care all, heading to the salt mine for three days.

Same here. I got over to Murrell a few minutes before you left. Caught a nice Crappie and 2 dink sandies. Went searching and found a bunch over in front of Meadowmere west side 18ft depth. Landed about 30 sandies every drop, but maybe 5 were big enough to keep. They were trying to surface but the wake boarders were thick and the fish never formed a large school and stayed up long. Wind was tough till 8 pm, so I called it a day. 3/4 slabs and 2 1/2" sassy shad and maybe one on a humdinger.
The boat traffic I guess picked back up, since they must have rested earlier in the week from the July 4th holiday. I thought no one would be out since only one trailer was at Meadowmere when I put in, but I gathered they all showed up later when the parking lot was almost full when I came back at 8.
