Is today’s treated lumber safe to use for bunks with aluminum boats? In need of some new ones and thought I would check here about it. Also trying to decide if doing myself or having it done is worth the money savings.

Thanks for feed back

My Lund trailer has treated lumber. I just measured the length of the boards and bought treated lumber at Lowe's. Academy had the bunker carpet. I made them in my garage and replaced them on the trailer in the parking lot by the boat ramp.

Check for Marine Grade pressure treated lumber.

If you use pressure treated lumber, make sure all your hardware is SS because they use saltwater to treat the wood and it will leach out and corode your cadium plated hardware.

Works with MG Xi5, Xi3 and MK Terrova, Ulterra, PD V2 and Riptides as well.

I don't believe that they use saltwater, but the chemicals used to treat lumber are caustic for sure, and I agree that SS hardware is the only good option for installation on a boat or trailer.

If possible try to find grade 1 in the treated lumber. It won’t warp like #2 will.
