I wouldn't pay a dime for it at Dick's Sporting Goods. They can rot.

I wouldn't pay a dime for it at Dick's Sporting Goods. They can rot. Now back to the reel. I have a couple of Z's and some A's and C's as well. To me they cast as far if not further and hold more line. As for long term durability who know's. Shop around online and FB market place. Several retailers were selling them for $100-110.

It Dick's had them for $60.00 I might be inclined to purchase them but if they are breaking even or making money I won't help them at all.

Hahahahaha nice! Never been in a Dick's and don't plan on it, but saw it online so was going to see if my local academy would juat price match it. They are pretty good about that stuff.

Thanks but I found one local for $100 I picked up. May have to hit you up if I like this one enough.
To take this thread in a new direction, are there any reels out there that are a must try? I have a couple of older quantum pt burners, 2 newer revo stx, couple older curado 200s, this concept z, and a few random cheapies that are about 15 yrs old. Heard the shimano slx is a good one to try. Just curious what's out there is a must try for the money. At some point im gonna get a chronarch mgl to play with. Just like trying all the stuff thats out there. Thanks

Am I missing something here? Why all the hate for Dick’s Sporting Goods?
Their fishing section is small and lackluster I guess with limited selection (and the store nearest to me actually got rid of all their fishing stuff since the Field and Stream store opened in Prosper), but I have gotten some great deals there in the past, like a Mojo Bass rod for $60, an SLX reel for $70, and a St. Croix Triumph rod for $70. Every once in a while I receive decent coupons that make it worth it to buy some more gear (or order online if they don’t have it in store) that make it cheaper than Academy or Bass Pro pricing.
Is there something horrible they did or a scandal I don’t know about?

Is there something horrible they did or a scandal I don’t know about? It's because of their anti 2nd Amendment stand. They caved to soccer moms
